[When Pepper posts, Loki uses his brain and figures out that THE JIG IS KIND OF UP. Unfortunately for one and all, he is a little shit. His voice is delicate, and deliberately blank, when he sends this message. It's possessed of a kind of tension, like he's honestly not certain how this conversation will end.]
Mr. Stark... I have something to tell you. A truth, to replace a lie which I have told.

Date: 2012-07-11 04:46 pm (UTC)Normally it would be nothing, barely worth his notice, but the Barge had drained his strength and Tony... has a decent right hook.
The blow connects, and his head snaps to the side. Blood wells in his mouth, and at some point his hand has moved up to grip hold of Tony's wrist, on the hand that's knotted in the fabric of his clothes. It takes him a moment to shut down the instinct to retaliate, but he does it. The hand drops back down to his side, and he turns to look back at Tony, wordlessly.
His expression is pained, but resolute. He's not here to make any excuses or ask for forgiveness, and if Tony needs to hit him again, then it's not as if he's going to stop him.]

Unsatisfied and in pain, because no matter who you were, if you weren't backed by radiation or super soldier genes, a punch hurt both parties involved. So, shaking out his hand, rubbing over the knuckles as soon as Loki drops back and stares he's taking a step back as well, and then another.
He's not an idiot. He's not stupid enough to think himself a full threat without his suit, and he's also not stupid enough to drop his guard despite the lack of retaliation.]
So what's the gain for you, huh? Avengers not working together anymore? Because if you hadn't noticed, we're kind of sucking on the unified front of things even without your help.

Date: 2012-07-13 11:43 am (UTC)The gain for me, was that you were not my enemy. To find the three of you here, three of those who saw me dead in my own life awaiting me also in the next? Where I am drained of my strength and my freedom? It was... a concern for me.
T'was clear enough from the first that your Captain remembered and hated me. With The Black Widow... perhaps she does not recall, but he's told her enough that I can't speak without her accosting me in private to interrogate my motives.
But you... you didn't remember me. And for whatever reason they did not tell you to remember me, and perhaps I did not want to immediately be set against all three of you again.
[He looks... almost sheepish. Not embarrassed, exactly, but awkward in a way that's out of character for him.]
You knew nothing of me, and I no hatred of you, despite what's happened. So why would I choose to be your enemy?
