[Loki had expected all kinds of things from his post. Indignation, explanations, frustrations, justifications... he'd expected a debate, an argument, the chance to sew the seeds of doubt into minds set to follow a cause that they believed was just.

He had thought, to some degree, that he understood. Despite the Admirals cunning and his secrecy, he had believed that the premise for his imprisonment was that he was wicked, and the wardens were just.

He had expected them to defend their morality, and instead they had lined up to confess. His guilt, and the sense that like it or not, what befell him here was somebody's idea of justice, had fallen apart. Now he just felt angry.

Storming from his room, he made for the gym. The desire to con and wheedle with the wardens was gone now. Only the desire to force them to expose their own wickedness remained.]
